Module 1: KAM Essentials
Through mixed-media materials you will:
- Explore the principles and practice of KAM, what it is and is not
- Learn how to identify customers as different types of key accounts
- Understand the role and importance of KAM relationships
- Appreciate the multiple roles, responsibilities and competencies of key account managers
Assignment exercises apply the tools and frameworks used in real KAM
Module 2: Strategic key account planning
The strategic key account plan is the key account manager’s most important instrument
Through a guided learning track and lectures, you will:
- Be able to write a strategic key account plan
- Understand KAM-related financial concerns
- Develop marketing strategies and techniques applicable in KAM
The assignment is a strategic key account plan
Module 3: KAM Implementation
Through mixed-media materials and the final lecture, you will:
- Be able to select and apply metrics for KAM progress and outcomes
- Examine the negotiation process and prepare to negotiate with a key account
- Understand how KAM is or is not implemented in the organisation

The course is designed to fit around your job. How long it takes is up to you: it could take 8-10 months if you can maintain a fairly steady 3 hours per week, allowing for up to 3 weeks for assessment marking.
You should aim to complete within a year or you will lose momentum. But we allow a maximum of 3 years to accommodate any untoward life events.
All materials will be accessible through our learning platform and you can access them whenever you like, as often as you like, after release.
Materials are a very practical array delivered through different media, generated by experienced KAM practitioners and experts, so they are authentic and applicable in the real KAM world.
Module 1 materials will be accessible through the learning platform as soon as your registration fee is paid.
Materials for Module 2 will be released after your assignments for Module 1 have been assessed and passed, similarly materials for Module 3 will be released after your assignments for Module 2 have been assessed and passed.
Assignment items are submitted through the learning platform. You will receive a mark and brief feedback within 3 weeks.
You must achieve a minimum of 40% on all Modules to gain your Certificate.
