How it works

Application

Send your CV to [email protected] & [email protected]

If accepted for the next stage, pay €175 application fee and send your documents

Online interview with Prof Michel Kalika and a KAM Faculty member.

If accepted, pay the first instalment DBA fee of €20,000 or €8000.

DBA programme:

Year 1

Phase 1: KAM thematic paradigms and research methodologies

  1. Introduction and research design: 6 lectures online
  2. Current thinking in Key Account Management: 12 lectures online
  3. Qualitative and quantitative research methodologies: 12 lectures online

Lectures are 1 per week on 2 consecutive weeks, generally on Thursday afternoons, followed by 1 week off for independent study. They are recorded and available in request if you can’t make the live lecture.

Year 2 & 3

Phase 2: Your research into your KAM issue

  1. Progress reports and tutor feedback: monthly, feedback by email or online chat
  2. Presentation of your research approach and progress: 6 online seminars, 15-minute presentations, 30-minute feedback from faculty, feedback report and edited video of your presentation
  3. (Optional) Review of research approach and progress: 5 international in-person seminars, same approach as online

Online review seminars are generally held over several days, so you will be able to find a slot to suit your schedule. You must present your progress at each, and you can listen to as many of the others as you wish – you can learn a lot from them too.

You are welcome but not obliged to attend the international in-person seminars held at iaelyon School of Management in France, where you can meet other students and faculty. They operate in the same way as the online seminars.

Year 4

Phase 3: Producing your thesis

  1. Support programme as in Phase 2: monthly reports and feedback, 2 online seminars and 1 international seminar
  2. Submission of thesis: in writing
  3. Thesis defence: online or in person, panel of professors

By the time you submit your thesis, you will have practised the reasoning behind every stage of your approach and outcomes in sessions with your tutor and other faculty. You should not be unduly daunted by the ‘defence’.

Award: Doctor of Business Administration

  1. Certificate sent soon after your successful thesis defence
  2. (Optional) Graduation ceremony in person with other DBA graduates
  3. Entitlement to use DBA after your name
